Access to sensitive information such as
- source code which can only be accessed if the provider has failed to meet a contract;
- legal documents such as wills meant to be hidden until a death
- recorded music or other art jointly owned by multiple creators
- historical documents meant to be accessed after a death or passage of time
can be restricted robustly by splitting the information into pieces, each capable of yielding no
information independently, and each kept by different parties to the contract.
Then when legal conditions are satisfied or multiple owners agree,
the information can be reconstructed from the pieces.
